March 24, 2014 - Walmart announced the opening of a hiring center for the New Orleans East Walmart at 5931 Bullard Ave., Suite 12. The center is expected to hire approximately 300 associates to work at the new store scheduled to open this summer. Residents, community
leaders, political representatives and Walmart executives were on hand to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony. "We are excited to add a New Walmart Super Center to New Orleans and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area," said store manager, Michael Nowell. The new job center is hiring both full- and part-time associates. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online at: http://careers.walmart.com. Through Walmart's Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.
